The 47-year-old Scot, who triumphed at Alexandra Palace in 2015 and 2016, went through 3-1. Northern Irelands Burness had beaten former top 10 player Paul Nicholson to set up the clash. But, despite not always looking comfortable, Andersons experience helped him into the last 32.
